A safe space where you can openly and honestly share your struggles with Ramadan, without being “astaghfirullah”-ed

When you think about Ramadan, you think it’s just long, and you think:

— OMG! How am I going to survive?
— Why do I even have to fast?
— What’s the point?

You’ve thought these things in your head, but you’d never tell any adults you know because, ‘Haraaaaaam!’

So you keep it to yourself, right?

Imagine you had a space where you can openly and honestly talk about your highs, lows, and struggles with Ramadan.

Imagine there are a couple of adults there who listen and get you. They’re patient and hold space for you.

Imagine feeling safe to talk about anything and everything when it comes to Ramadan as a teen.

You might call it heaven, we call it…

I’m LaYinka, and I know your struggles with Ramadan and being a Muslim teen, not because I’m 18 (I know I look it!), but because I’ve been speaking to teens just like you and I get it.

As a teen girl, you’ve got a heck of a lot of pressure you’re facing (and those hormones raging!), and then you add Islam to the mix and… man.

It can be tough.

I know I’m an adult and you expect me to be halaling, haraming, and astaghfirullah-ing at you, but I won’t. You get lectured enough.

I believe it’s time for you to be listened to, and that’s why I’m running the Ramadan Edition of Honestly Me.

Enough hiding. It’s time to be real.

ABOUT

I know you feel shame and guilt for some of your struggles with the month of Ramadan, and I know you’ve never had a chance to voice them without feeling shut down.

‘Honestly Me — Ramadan Edition’ is different.

Through deep conversations, team games, guided visualisations, problem-solving huddles, and real, down-to-earth sharing, you finally get to be heard, seen, and understood, and come as you are.

And we promise: ZERO boring lectures.

WHAT OTHER TEENS ARE SAYING

The session was awesome. Even though she was an adult I felt like I could trust her.

She made us all feel at ease, and we all felt like we could approach and tell her anything. It was really nice to be able to talk openly and honestly.

She was really funny, approachable, and we found her really relatable.
